Human Resource Development for Achieving "Golden Indonesia 2045" in the Syariah Context
Abstract
Purpose – This article explores strategies for developing human resources to achieve the “Golden Indonesia 2045” vision, emphasizing the integration of Syariah principles in shaping the competencies, ethics, and innovation of the Indonesian workforce. The study aims to bridge the gap between national development aspirations and the implementation of value-driven human capital paradigms rooted in Islamic teachings.
Design/methodology/approach – The methodology employs a qualitative approach using literature review and content analysis of policy documents, best practices, and case studies related to Syariah-based human resource development. The research synthesizes contemporary international journal findings and Indonesian government initiatives to construct a conceptual framework for effective HR growth in the Syariah context.
Findings – The study reveals that integrating Syariah values—such as amanah (trustworthiness), adil (justice), and ihsan (excellence)—with modern HR practices enhances workforce productivity, integrity, and resilience. The model encourages sustainable development, fosters a culture of innovation, and prepares Indonesian talent to navigate global challenges while maintaining ethical foundations.
Research limitations/implications – The paper is limited by its reliance on secondary sources and the conceptual nature of its framework. Further empirical research is encouraged to test the model's effectiveness in various organizational settings and sectors within Indonesia.
Originality/value – This research provides a novel integration of Syariah principles with contemporary HR development models, addressing a critical gap in current literature. The conceptual framework offers practical guidance for policymakers, educators, and industry leaders striving to realize the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision while upholding ethical and cultural values.
